This unique artwork is designed and handmade by French textile designer Thomas Coccimiglio. Born in Belgium, Thomas graduated with an M.A in arts and design in Brussels. Throughout his career, he collaborated as a textile designer with high end and contemporary fashion labels such as Isabel Marant, Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs & Etro to name a few.
After a decade of travelling for work he has now settled down in a studio in Burgundy where he creates handpainted and custom made artworks for his international clients.
This (wall) carpet is one of a limited series of original artworks translated with the finest quality of hand-knotted Tibetan wool and silk yarns. The process of making can take between 2 to 6 months to be completed.
All materials used for the carpets are biodegradable and they use eco-friendly materials. In addition, artisans are provided medical benefit and schooling for their children. These rugs are certified by Goodweave who receives a percentage of sales proceed. Goodweave is a Washington, DC based 501(c) non-profit organization that promotes non-child labor and en- courages greater social and environmental responsibility.
There are only a limited number of pieces available which makes this artwork very unique.
