The Lobi people have their origin in Ghana, but moved to Burkina Faso around 1770. They were famous for their beautifully hand carved wooden pieces, mostly made out of one piece of wood. These stools, as featured in the photos, were brought outside on a daily basis to have something to sit on. You can even see the annual growth rings on the top.
